Collections Obtained by Lance Ferm
Joseph Ferm Collection: Ida Gleim-Webster was the granddaughter of Thaddeus Lowe via Louise and was his personal secretary. These artifacts came from the office of Thaddeus Lowe. This collection was obtained by Pauline Gleim-Ferm from her sister Ida in the late 1940s and was given to Joseph Ferm her son. Lance Ferm obtained this collection from his father from 2003 through 2006 and donated it to the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institute in 2011.
Anne Read Collection: Edna Lowe-Wright was the daughter of Thaddeus Lowe and his caregiver toward the end of his life. These artifacts came from the home of Thaddeus Lowe and were given by Edna to her daughter Leonie Clair Wright-Read. This collection passed on to Anne Read-Warren, the great granddaughter of Thaddeus Lowe by her mother Leonie. This collection was obtained by Lance Ferm in 2013.
Special thanks go to both Joseph Ferm and Anne Read for preserving their collections for over 50 years so they can be viewed by you today.
